Finance, Accounting and HR Temple, Texas Description Position at Wilsonart Wilsonart is current seeking a Manager, Benefits to join our team of HR professionals in Temple, TX. Under the direction of the Director of Benefits, HRIS and Compensation, this position manages a wide variety of employee benefit programs and initiatives involving the management of health and welfare plans, retirement benefit plans and their related systems. Using analytical, organizational and communication skills, this position is responsible for providing benefits subject matter expertise on administration, compliance, reporting, as well as employee communication and education. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Participate in the design, implementation, and administration of company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, life, disability, COBRA, FSA, Voluntary benefits, along with the company 401k retirement plan. Provide customer service by answering employee inquiries, providing guidance and resolution of issues. Partner proactively with payroll, finance and other departments as needed. Work closely with internal counsel, benefits consultants, and vendors as appropriate on non-routine issues/escalations and plan administration. Lead and assist as appropriate in the completion of the legal compliance of the health and welfare and retirement plans, including 401(k) annual audit, 5500 process and compliance testing (Non-Discrimination), Summary Plan Descriptions, etc. Manage annual open enrollment, including plan design implementation, communications and materials, systems testing and employee elections/confirmations. Lead Benefit special projects including employee events in a timely manner and according to budget requirements. Manage the creation, distribution and presentation of employee benefits communications including new hire orientation, open enrollment, periodic benefit updates, and ongoing benefits communication campaigns. Lead the implementation of new programs and changes to plans and/or administrative procedures to drive constant improvement and improved accuracy. Manage interfaces between Workday, Empyrean, Unum and various carrier systems. Manage vendor relationships to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant administration of benefit programs. Resolve escalated employee questions and issues and expedite delivery of benefits as needed. Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends. Serve as backup to Benefits Specialist. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations with regards to benefits administration, including ERISA, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA and other industry legislation. Knowledge of health and welfare plans and retirement plans, with ability to explain, apply and understand analysis techniques, benefit plan design and employee benefit laws. Strong organization and prioritization skills. Ability to multitask and manage several key projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines, paying close attention to detail and accuracy. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Working knowledge of HRIS and timekeeping systems, preferably Workday and Kronos. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and employees and with external parties; ability to facilitate and manage conflict resolution.
